Tl;dr: I sell my time and expertise, not guaranteed outcomes. Refunds are rare but I am a human being, and life happens. If life happens to you, talk to me. There is almost always an arrangement.
When you hire Butterfly Paperclip, you are paying for my time, expertise, and the systems I build with you. I bring six years of consulting practice and a career of systems work to every project, and I will always tell you honestly what I think will work.
What I cannot promise is a specific result. No honest consultant can. Your revenue, your bookings, and your growth depend on many things outside my control: your market, your pricing, your season, the economy having a mood. I build the systems. The business is still yours.
Because of that, fees are not refundable based on results.
If something goes genuinely wrong in your life mid-project, a health crisis, a family emergency, the kind of thing that changes everything, reach out. In rare, compassion-based situations, I will refund a portion of your project fee based on how much of the work is already complete.
How that works:
Your deposit is non-refundable. It reserves your spot on my calendar and covers the discovery and planning work that happens first.
The remaining balance is prorated against completed milestones. If the design is done and the build is halfway, the refund reflects that honestly.
Any completed work is yours to keep. I do not claw back finished pages or systems. They do have an ongoing maintenance fee for continued access.
This is an exception, not a policy loophole.
Monthly plans (Maintenance, Coaching, and Ongoing Support) can be changed or cancelled at any time with notice before your next billing date. Charges already paid for the current billing period are non-refundable.
Cancelling your Maintenance plan ends your access to the managed platform and the services included with it. If you're simply taking a break, you may be eligible for a temporary pause instead. If you're ending the relationship, your account can be transferred to an independent GoHighLevel subscription under your ownership. The sections below explain each option in more detail.
Sometimes you need to step back without tearing everything down. A medical issue, a caregiving season, a stretch where the business has to wait.
If that happens, you may request a one-time pause of up to six months.
During a pause, your website is replaced with a simple "temporarily unavailable" holding page, and your GoHighLevel account, CRM, email marketing, automations, and other platform services are temporarily suspended. No monthly fees are charged during the approved pause period, and your account is securely retained so you can resume without rebuilding everything from scratch.
At the end of the pause, your regular Maintenance subscription resumes. If you need additional time, we'll discuss the best path forward together.
If you choose to end your Maintenance subscription, your account will be transferred to an independent GoHighLevel account under your ownership and billed directly by GoHighLevel at their current pricing.
Your website, CRM, contacts, automations, and business data remain yours. Once the transfer is complete, hosting, platform services, and ongoing support through Butterfly Paperclip Co. end.
If you'd like to work together again in the future, you're always welcome back. Returning clients can resume a Maintenance plan by migrating their account back under my main account, allowing me to once again provide hosting, maintenance, and ongoing support.
Consent-based consulting means you're never locked into working with me, and the door is always open if you decide you'd like support again.
If a payment fails or an invoice becomes overdue, here's what you can expect.
Within the first 30 days: I'll reach out with reminders and an opportunity to update your payment method or discuss the situation. Cards expire, banks make mistakes, and sometimes life simply gets overwhelming.
After 30 days without payment or communication: Your Maintenance services are suspended. This includes website hosting, CRM access, email marketing, automations, forms, e-commerce, coaching, support, and any other services included with your plan.
After 60 days without payment or communication: Your account is considered cancelled. If possible, I'll transfer your account to an independent GoHighLevel subscription under your ownership so you can continue using your systems directly with GoHighLevel. If I can't complete the transfer because I can't reach you, I'll export any available business data, send it to the email address on file, and close the account.
I'd always rather hear, "I'm having a hard time right now," than hear nothing at all. If you reach out before your account reaches cancellation, there's usually a solution we can work out together. I can't promise every request can be accommodated, but I can promise I'll always try to find a fair path forward.
This policy works alongside your service agreement. Where they differ, the signed agreement wins. Questions about any of it? Let's talk.
